Tour of the St Kilda Cemetery

The Society invites all interested parties to attend a guided tour of the St Kilda Cemetery, which will be themed around Ned Kelly and will visit the graves of those involved in his trial.

This group includes:

Henry Bindon – Kelly’s defence lawyer
Charles Smyth – prosecutor
Arthur Chomley – assistant crown prosecutor
Anne Jane Sherritt – Aarron Sherritt’s sister
John Castieau – Prison Governor
Francis Longmore – Royal Commissioner
Arthur Akehurst – Magistrate at Avenel involved in Ellen Kelly’s trial on larceny charges
Charles Nicolson – Assistant Commissioner of Police and charged with the task of pursuing the Kelly gang
Henry Gurner – barrister at Kelly’s committal hearing in Beechworth

This event will be held on Sunday, 27th January, 2013 from 10am.

Tickets must be purchased in advance via this part of our website.

    This event was well attended by Society members. A fantastic tour of the cemetery was provided by Geoff Austin of the Friends of the St Kilda Cemetery, Inc., for which the Society was most grateful.
